"I'm helping people develop intellectual self-defense... It means that you have to develop an independent mind, and work on it. That's extremely hard to do alone... The beauty of our system is that it isolates everybody. Each person is sitting alone in front of the tube. It's very hard to have ideas or thoughts under those circumstances. You can't fight the world alone. Some people can, but it's pretty rare. The way to do it is through  organization.... The question is whether privileged elites should dominate mass  communication, and should use this

power as they tell us they must – namely to impose necessary illusions, to manipulate and deceive the stupid majority and remove them from the public arena."

Excerpt from TOWARDS ZERO

"...I will maintain that the real goal of this entire election campaign has been the removal from the political arena of Hillary Clinton, and to a lesser extent, Bill Clinton. The actual people in charge of the plot may never be known, or it may be that they are a loose and informal coalition of people whose interests happened to coincide. They include powerful Republicans, big-money people, radical Democrats, those who control the American media. Each of these groups has its own reasons for wanting to destroy the power of Hillary Clinton. But their end goal is the same, and Barack Obama was simply the useful tool to accomplish it.
Let’s go back to the beginning of this campaign. Obama, a mostly unknown political figure, had immense amounts of money to spend. This wasn’t coming from $25 donations from the grassroots, as the shadowy manipulators would have you believe. It was coming from big money sources. Exactly who will never be known. George Soros, certainly. Penny Pritzker and her consortium. Possible foreign sources tapped by either of the former or their associates. And it is almost certain that some of this money came from Republicans who thought that Obama was the best bet to eliminate Hillary Clinton. Obama could be sold to the Democratic Left, since as a Black man, he fit the wish-template of many of its members. And he could be marketed as someone new, someone who transcended “the battles of the ’90’s,’ not coincidentally those that the Republicans had lost.

Clinton Delegate for McCain:

Hillary's Orange Pantsuit

Everyone knew when Obama gave Sen. Hillary Clinton the finger. Even the Obamabots in the crowd knew and they loved his big F-You to Hillary. I believe it was the day after she cleaned his clock in their last debate (remember, Obama wouldn't debate her anymore---the big chicken. Click on the link for a giggle.)

Well, when Hillary gives the finger to Obama, et al. it is done in such a classy way that I am sure the Obots missed the big "F-You!"

I saw the photo of the different colored pantsuits that her aides were holding by the podium. They were trying to decide which color she should wear for her speech at the Democratic National Convention. I think there were five to choose from. All I know is that I was hoping she would pick orange. It looked good with the background and I knew what the color orange would signify.

Last night Hillary came out in her orange pantsuit and I giggled about the possible subliminal message. Hillary Clinton is one smart lady and at that moment I knew what her orange pantsuit symbolized, I got the "meaning" of the color. Then today I read
a comment that someone else noticed the significance of the orange color. I knew then that I WAS RIGHT!

Orange is the symbolic color of the Ukrainian Revolutionaries who protested the "selection" of the President in a rigged election. There was
massive corruption, voter intimidation and direct electoral fraud.

Sound familiar????

In the end the
Orange Revolution was successful. There was a re-vote that was watched by world observers (that's what we needed here!) and Yushchenko became the President.

I guess only "rigged" elections in foreign countries get world outcry.

Later I am going shopping for an orange t-shirt or two. It's time for a Revolution and it will start in November!

Sen. Clinton on Georgia

Dated 4/18/08!

I am deeply disturbed by the latest Russian actions regarding Georgia, and Russia’s broader policies towards its neighbors.

Several weeks ago I called on NATO to extend a Membership Action Plan (MAP) to Georgia and Ukraine at the Bucharest Summit. I emphasized that this move would be a litmus test for the success of President Bush’s leadership of the trans-Atlantic community. My support for MAP was based on the need to send a positive signal to Tbilisi and Kyiv to encourage them to stay on track with their positive reforms as well as to send a signal of our concern to Moscow about the future security of these countries.

I deeply regret President Bush’s inability to convince our NATO allies to take this action. This is the first time in memory a U.S. President has traveled to a NATO summit and failed to achieve his publicly proclaimed goals.

Now the Russian government has taken advantage of the lack of unity coming out of the Bucharest Summit to further ratchet up the pressure on young democracies on its borders. Moscow’s actions this week to strengthen ties with the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia undermine the territorial integrity of the state of Georgia and are clearly designed to destabilize the government of President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Georgia is a small democratic state in a turbulent region. It must not be allowed to be undermined. Two weeks ago President Bush sat with President Putin in Sochi just a few kilometers away from the Georgian border. He prided himself on his close working relationship with Vladimir Putin. President Bush should call on the Russian leadership to immediately rescind these steps.

I also call on President Bush to immediately send a senior representative to Tbilisi to show our support for the government of Georgia. The United States should raise this matter in the United Nations Security Council, in a special 26+1 session of NATO’s North Atlantic Council (NAC), and in the NATO-Russia Council. Russia needs to hear a unified message from the United States and our European partners about our shared commitment to Georgia’s security and territorial integrity.

These are not the only Russian moves that I have found troubling. Senior Russian officials have engaged in a pressure campaign to prevent Ukraine from seeking deeper ties with NATO. President Putin even raised the prospect of retargeting nuclear missiles against Ukraine.

I am not advocating, nor do I envisage, a return to a new Cold War with Russia, which I believe ought to remain in the G-8, where the United States and its allies can together address our growing list of concerns with Moscow. But the current Administration’s mishandling of Russian relations has contributed to Moscow’s belief that it can do as it pleases. America and its allies can and must do better.

Ask Pollsters to Include Hillary Again

by: Alegre

Guys this is an action item. Given the stagnant polls and BHO's inability to close the deal, I think it's time for the polling outfits out there to start including Hillary in some of their models. Please contact the following polling groups to request that they include HRC in their Presidential polling. Here's a sample letter - send them an email and ask them to get to the real story in this election.

Dear Pollster X,
In light of the recent findings, (Obama is about tied and slipping in a year when more Americans, over 60%, want a Democratic president), and there is currently NO certified nominee, I think the pulse of the American people should be taken again. Hillary was ahead when the last polls like this were done soon after she suspended her campaign.

The Battle May be Over...but the War Has just Begun!

Howard Dean confronted By a PUMA!

"As he stepped off the bus he was greeted immediately by Guila Jackson, who loudly demanded that the party put Hillary Clinton's name into nomination at this summer's national party convention.

“We want a nominee who's elected, not selected," she said, gripping his hand tightly as he stood, a smile frozen on his face.

Ms. Jackson is part of a group of die-hard Hillary supporters called PUMA, which stands for Party Unity my Ass.

“He tried to get away from me,” Ms. Jackson said later. “But I had a hold of his hand.”

When Mr. Dean did break away from Ms. Jackson, he found himself face to face with Dixie Barton of Waco, a Republican who gave him an earful about congressional support for AIDS funding to Africa and Democratic opposition to oil exploration off the U.S. coast...."

WANTED: 175 HONEST DEMOCRATIC DELEGATES TO LEAVE FRAUDULENT OBAMA IN DENVER!

On July 3, Barack Obama revealed once and for all that has run a fraudulent campaign in his attempt to secure the Democratic nomination for President. The foundation of Obama’s campaign had been his claim that he was the anti-war alternative in his opposition to Bush’s war in Iraq. Now, in a North Dakota campaign event, Obama has declared that he will consult with the generals and “refine his position” on the Iraq war. The Washington Post headlined: “Obama May Consider Slowing Iraq Withdrawal.” But the real message is clear: Obama is moving rapidly away from his earlier 11-month or 16-month timetables for withdrawal and towards full support for endless war, conflict, violence, and bankruptcy in Iraq. Look what you can get at Costco... by Puget Sound Island Girl

I was in Seattle today (yes, Justlen I went into that big, scary, gansta city!) and decided to go to Costco.

I needed a few things and I also wanted to purchase The Obama Nation by Jerome R. Corsi.

I got my items and went to the checkout. My checker was very friendly. He asked about my day and about my weekend. Then he came to the book, The Obama Nation. He grabbed it, held it up in front of him and froze. Then he said, "Obama!" I had no idea what to think of all of this. The young man who was putting my stuff in the cart saw the book and shot me a look. He then asked, "Have you ever read The Audacity of Hope?" What could I say at that point? I knew the checker wasn't being friendly to me anymore (all of my groceries were now being scanned, raised a few inches and slammed down on the counter) and now the young man boxing my stuff was questioning my reading material. I told him yes. I then went back to being the quiet shopper, while my sausage was being slammed on the counter (I bought a lot of the gourmet sausage). The checker then turned to the boxer and said, "Ya know, Obama can be over the top sometimes but he is so much better than anyone else out there!" At that moment he shot me a not very nice look. Inside I am shocked at the audacity of these two! I then announce to the checker (loud enough for all close to hear), "I actually support Hillary Clinton." The checker then says in such a nasty tone, "How does that make you feel?" Can you believe this conversation so far???? All I am trying to do is spend too much money at Costco and this was my treatment due to one book I was purchasing. How does that make me feel? I told him how I felt about supporting Hillary Clinton. I said, "I feel great! As a matter of fact I am going to Denver. I am a delegate for Hillary Clinton." You should have seen the looks I got from the checker!!! He said nothing else. I paid my bill and left. I was so angry. I went to my car and called my fellow Hillary supporters (my mother and my sister). Tomorrow I will call the corporate office of Costco.

All I did was buy a book! What did I get in return? Intimidation at Costco from the employees----Who knew???

One world? Obama's on a different planet
The senator's Berlin speech was radical and naive.
By John R. Bolton
July 26, 2008

SEN. BARACK OBAMA said in an interview the day after his Berlin speech that it "allowed me to send a message to the American people that the judgments I have made and the judgments I will make are ones that are going to result in them being safer."

If that is what the senator thought he was doing, he still has a lot to learn about both foreign policy and the views of the American people. Although well received in the Tiergarten, the Obama speech actually reveals an even more naive view of the world than we had previously been treated to in the United States. In addition, although most of the speech was substantively as content-free as his other campaign pronouncements, when substance did slip in, it was truly radical, from an American perspective.

These troubling comments were not widely reported in the generally adulatory media coverage given the speech, but they nonetheless deserve intense scrutiny. It remains to be seen whether these glimpses into Obama's thinking will have any impact on the presidential campaign, but clearly they were not casual remarks. This speech, intended to generate the enormous publicity it in fact received, reflects his campaign's carefully calibrated political thinking. Accordingly, there should be no evading the implications of his statements. Consider just the following two examples. Read more...

The difference between supporting a person and supporting a principle

by Heidi Li

Today, one of the political activities with which I am involved, The Denver Group, received some attention from the MSM. Both reporters I spoke with were courteous and professional. But the stories they produced about The Denver Group run the risk of conflating two very different things: supporting a particular candidate and arguing for a certain procedure.

Anybody who reads this blog knows that my preferred candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination is Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. But that is not why I decided to co-found The Denver Group with Marc Rubin.

I have said it here and I say it when interviewed: I do not know whether come August and the Democratic National Convention, Senator Clinton herself will be willing to accept being placed in nomination and thereby being entered into a truly democratic election process.

That choice is Senator Clinton's and I would listen carefully to her reasons for accepting or rejecting being placed in nomination were that opportunity offered to her; just as I would listen carefully to her were she to end up winning a meaningful roll call vote and having to decide whether to accept the nomination. Based on her reasons, I might or might agree that her decision is wise but the decisions involved are hers to make.

But I would want this year's Democratic National Convention to include both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton's names in nomination even if Senator Obama were my preferred candidate. Continue...

Obama's Lame Claim About McCain's Money
Factcheck.org - by: Brooks Jackson

Obama says McCain is "fueled" by money from lobbyists and PACs, but those sources account for less than 1.7 percent of McCain's money.

Obama announced he would become the first presidential candidate since 1972 to rely totally on private donations for his general election campaign, opting out of the system of public financing and spending limits that was put in place after the Watergate scandal.
One reason, he said, is that "John McCain’s campaign and the Republican National Committee are fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs."
We find that to be a large exaggeration and a lame excuse. In fact, donations from PACs and lobbyists make up less than 1.7 percent of McCain's total receipts, and they account for only about 1.1 percent of the RNC's receipts.

Barack Obama purges Web site critique of surge in Iraq

BY JAMES GORDON MEEK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU
Monday, July 14th 2008, 8:10 PM

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's campaign scrubbed his presidential Web site over the weekend to remove criticism of the U.S. troop "surge" in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.
The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a "problem" that had barely reduced violence.
"The surge is not working," Obama's old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks - not U.S. military muscle - for quelling violence in Anbar Province.
The News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the fewest since March 2004.
Obama's campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an "improved security situation" paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007.
It praises G.I.s' "hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and enormous sacrifice."
Campaign aide Wendy Morigi said Obama is "not softening his criticism of the surge. We regularly update the Web site to reflect changes in current events."
GOP rival John McCain zinged Obama as a flip-flopper. "The major point here is that Sen. Obama refuses to acknowledge that he was wrong," said McCain, adding that Obama "refuses to acknowledge that it [the surge] is succeeding."
